This facility has been installed to provide low cost pontoon berthing within Eastney Lake, Hampshire. The 1st phase provided approximately 50 berths. There was soon a very long waiting list so plans began to extend the existing structure to provide an additional 50 berths. These berths became extremely sought after and once again a long waiting list formed. The existing structure being within Eastney Lake was well protected except from northerly storms so a wave calming structure was sought. This has now been installed complete with berthing on its southerly side. The entire structure now provides berthing for approximately 150 boats. Access to the scheme is limited to full members of the Eastney Cruising Association but is operated autonomously with its own Management Committee. The berths dry out but give usable access approximately 2 ½ hrs either side of high water.
